Bill's Headshot Dear ABC4All,
Welcome to this month's edition of Positive Pathways. This month I have decided to focus on Kindness because we will be hosting a Kindness Challenge booth at a local jazz festival in April. The definition of Kind: indulgent, considerate, or helpful; humane. I believe that you can change not only your emotional state but also others' states in an instant by doing a kind deed. Yeah, it really is that powerful.
I also believe that you must be the person you would like others to be, and that includes being kind to others and yourself. Anytime you do a kind deed for someone, it plants a seed that takes up root very quickly because they often return the favor to someone else.
I wear a wrist band that my good friend Michael Chase of the Kindness Center sent me back in September. On the band it states simply, "Am I being kind?" Every single day I strive to do kind deeds for others. I have discovered that the more I practice it, the more it becomes a natural part of my life. I do kind deeds without even having to think about it, but my wristband acts as a great reminder if I get off track.
For the first time, I am hosting a Kindness Challenge at the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival April 24-26th. The Kindness Challenge booth volunteers will be handing out flowers, brochures, small gifts, and a number of other kind things all weekend long. We will have conduct the Kindness Challenge -- 100 Kind Acts in 100 Minutes -- on Sunday, April 26th at 2:00 PM. During the challenge, we will be asking festival participants to pick one of 100 cards with kind deeds on the back. They will then head out into crowd to do their kind deed and return to the booth. We will need 100 volunteers to complete the challenge. If you are local and up to the challenge, I will plan on seeing you there to help us document your kind deed!
The Kindness Booth has partnered with Good Samaritan Society Lake Forest Village. Without them, we would not be able to host the Kindness Challenge booth. You see, they have already done a kind thing that will be an inspiration for countless others. Thank you, Good Sam, thank you. We are still looking for ideas and give-a-ways for the event. If you are willing to participate, donate, send positive energy from across the globe, or offer any form of support, please email me at bill@positract.com
Believe it. See it. LOVE IT! Please forward this newsletter to anyone you think might be able to use a dose of kindness! Just select the "Send this to a friend" link at the bottom of this email. Ocean tankers FULL of gratitude to you!

Practice Kindness
This month your task is simple. Do at least 30 kind deeds. That means all you have to do is one kind deed per day. You can do that, right?
Need ideas? Go to the kindness meter on idontstink.com for well over 100 kind deeds. Create an account if you don't have one and start logging kind deeds on your very own kindness meter. Don't forget that kind deeds can be simple like giving someone a hug, saying a prayer, listening to a friend in need, opening a door for a stranger, etc.
We would like to hear how your kindness month is going. Send us your stories at bill@positract.com.
