'There is no way to Peace, Peace is the way'

Dear everyone, Namaste!

Youth Society for Peace (YSP) Nepal is going to celebrate the International Day of Peace; September 21st 2009 with various programs. We have been celebrating this very occasion since the inception from 2003. We have celebrated this program with great enthusiasm, success and every time we are satisfied with what we have been able to impart which still is not enough.

As peace is not only to be silent but a realization that comes through a practice. So, we are going to mark this occasion with various occasions. Please, see the program and try to be there wherever you think can participate.

(1) Interfaith Peace Prayer Program

Venue: Shanti Sewa Ashram; Koteshwar, Kathmandu

Time: 3: 30 PM

Date: 18th September, Friday

Mainly the youths and the adults will be participating with Interfaith leaders where World Peace Prayer will take place.

(2) Youths' Peace Conference

Venue: Shanti Sewa Ashram; Koteshwar

Time: 10: 00 AM – 5: 00 PM

Date: 19th September, Saturday

Schools: 15 in number from Kathmandu valley

Grades: 8, 9 and 10

Number of Participants: Around 100

Special Dignitaries: Dr. Chinta Mani Yogi, Mrs. Indira Manandhar, UN-representative (TBC)

Guest Speakers: Mr. Manish Thapa, Mr. Vishnu Bhakta Dangi and a representative from UN agency.

(3) Peace Art Competition

Venue: Helping Children Study Club; Koteshwar

Time: 4: 00 PM

Date: 20th September, Sunday

Mainly around 125 students of 'Helping Children Study Club" of SSA will participate.

(4) Peace Poetry Competition

Venue: Hindu Vidyapeeth–Nepal Balkumari, Lalitpur

Time: 12: 30 PM

Date: 21st September, Monday

Inter school poetry competition.
